This weekend will see David Denton return to first team action as he looks to take on Newcastle Falcons with the help of his Bath Rugby team mates on Saturday at Kingston Park in the ongoing Anglo-Welsh cup.
Since September, Denton has remained on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury. However, the return of the Scottish international rugby player will see him go into the match at the number eight position. David Sisi and captain Guy Mercer would join him at the back row.
Beno Obano, together with Jack Walker and Shaun Knight will headline the front row for the second successive game. At the second row pairing, Levi Douglas and Tom Ellis once again hold that position.
Harry Davies would continue at fullback after making an impressive competitive first team debut last week in their 17-17 draw with Gloucester Rugby. At the wing positions will be the duo of Jack Wilson and Jeff Williams.
Max Clark will be joining Ben Tapuai, a pivotal figure in the defence and attack against the Cherry and Whites in the midfield position. At the halfback positions, Chris Cook and Adam Hastings would be on ground to dictate the play.
Todd Blackadder, Director of Rugby for Bath Rugby said:“It’s a huge boost to have David Denton back in the first team picture after his layoff and we’re delighted to have Sam on board. He will quickly become an asset to the squad and add that depth in the front row.”
Darren Allinson, scrum-half was signed from London Irish on a short-term contract in November last year. However, he has now returned to his parent club.
Sam Nixon, a new signing from Plymouth Albion could make his debut for the team and has been named among the replacements.
